About
7 thousand hectares will be reforested in 18 states across the country
as part of their project of planting 30 million trees and restoration
of 25 hectares in priority areas.
Employees
of Coca-Cola of Mexico and his family began reforestation of this year,
endorsing the Company's commitment to return to nature all the water
used in their processes.

City, August 3, 2009 .- Sign in fulfilling its commitment to the planet
to return to nature, safely, all water used in the preparation of their
drinks and production processes, Coca - Cola
began its operations with annual reforestation planting more than 7
million trees in an area of nearly 7 hectares in the states of
Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango,
Estado de Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacan, Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Queretaro, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and Zacatecas.
"From
all fronts where we can make a positive difference, we continue to
develop programs that benefit the environment and seek the welfare of
the population. Our
actions to protect the vital liquid serve specific needs of each region
with programs targeted to reduce, recycle and replenish this resource
as well as measures that include efficiencies in plants and the
protection of key watersheds in Mexico and the world, so that we ensure a sustainable business in the future, "said Vivian Alegria, director of Community Affairs and Coca-Cola Foundation.
This
initiative, the largest of its kind that a company has decided to
implement in the country, aims to planting 30 million trees in 25
hectares of priority areas in a period of 5 years and is conducted with
support from Pronatura Mexico, AC, the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR) and the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP). In
2008, Coca-Cola ended the important stage of exploration sites, along
with 68 communities and planted more than 1.6 million trees over an
area of 1,650 hectares.
"It
is the materialization of the main objective we have at Pronatura, we
need to seek harmony between society, business and nature. And
it is very gratifying that a company like Coca-Cola will help us
achieve results through a positive effect and to endorse a real
commitment to achieving sustainability in the environment that we
develop, "said M. in C. Eduardo Cota Corona, Director of Conservation and Restoration Ecology of Pronatura Mexico.
To
begin the reforestation of this year, joined the Company, their
families and community members participated in a planting of days in
Amecameca, with the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl to witness
the planting of 2,000 trees . Some
of the most representative mountains of the country will be favored
with this program of forest restoration, the most famous summits in
Monterrey, the Nevado de Toluca, Pico de Orizaba, the Cofre de Perote,
Malinche, Nevado de Colima and the Infiernillo natural area in Michoacan, among others.

commitment is not limited to plant trees, also ensuring their growth
and survival, a task in which community participation is extremely
important therefore have developed alongside various productive
programs, such as the use of xoconostle for canning, and ensure that benefit the economic development of the population living in these forests, "he said Joy.
In

Mexico that is 100% of the water in their production processes and has 52 plants in wastewater treatment.
