ARCA receives ESR Award for the Seventh Consecutive year


The actions of the company highlight its Deepening Human Values program, recognized as Best Practice for Social Responsibility in the category of Quality of Life in the Company.
We initiated the second phase of Schools in Movement  in the city of Chihuahua, Chih., with the rehabilitation of athletic fields at public schools.


Monterrey, N.L., México, 4 de marzo de 2010 – Embotelladoras Arca S.A.B. of C.V. ( "Arca") (NYSE: ARK), the second largest bottler of Coca-Cola in Mexico and Latin America, announced today it was honored for the seventh consecutive year recognized as a Socially Responsible Company by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, CEMEFI, for its various programs for the community.

This distinction is awarded to those organizations or companies that demonstrate conclusively that they have principles and institutional projects in favor of their workers, the community and the environment, with a vision of transparency and responsibility that involves society´s joint efforts. In this regard, we note that in 2009 Arca received the award for Best Practice for Social Responsibility in the category of Quality of Life for promoting personal, family and labor development, within a framework of ethics and values through its Deepening Human Values program.

Combined with Coca-Cola Company´s Living Positively global platform which seeks to benefit present and future generations through sustainable growth in both the communities it serves as well as for the business, and covers 7 key areas, including: benefits of drinks, active lifestyles, water, community, workplace, weather and packing.   Arca continues to implement activities to promote active and healthy lifestyles, focused on raising standards of physical activity through sports. One is those is the Schools in Movement program, focused on promoting physical activity, sports and good eating habits in public schools, beginning in 2009 with its second phase expansion of the program to other areas such as rehabilitation of schools’ sporting areas in the city of Chihuahua, Chih.

As part of its commitment to the environment, Arca also stood out with its Annual Volunteer Day, through which more than 13,000 trees were planted in all its territories, with the participation of more than 1,500 Arca volunteers, their families and members of the community. One of the newly planted areas was the “El Cristal” community in the State of Coahuila, a barren territory next to a basin of water that meets the needs of communities in Coahuila and Monterrey.
